A user must first be enrolled at an enrollment station. Best practice is for a Rock to be installed in the Physical Security Office and operate in ‘enrollment station’ mode. A security guard supervises as the employee follows a few simple instructions guided by looking at the display on the Rock. The Rock will proceed to create a 3D biometric profile of the face. Enrollment takes just a few seconds.
Once the user has been enrolled, the user may approach any Rock to be authenticated.
The user must present to the Rock 2 credentials:
- their face
- their badge
The Rock will monitor the the tethered badge reader and will capture the credential of the user when the badge is presented
Once both face and badge credential is received, the Rock will match the user to the On-Board database, ensuring that the credential that was presented is the same credential that is fused to the users profile and only then will send the users credentials to the Access Control System for authorization.
The entire process happens quickly by utilizing edge processing
